I suffered a bout of glandular fever (mono for the Americans) about 2 years ago and didn't take the time to properly recover. I thought I had developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as a result but after numerous tests it turned out to be narcolepsy. This is basically profound daytime sleepiness which has prevented me from doing anything much for the last 2 years. I'm now on medication and trying to get the dosage right.
On Tuesday I am heading into hospital for sinus reconstruction surgery after years of recurrent sinusitus and migraines. It's quite a major procedure and means 10 - 14 days off work which is fine if you're not a stay at home mum!!!
In December I start a 3 - 5 year course of allergy desensitistion treatment which will hopefully have a huge impact on the chronic hayfever I have suffered all my life.
Unfortunately as a result of all these treatments and also 3 miscarriages in the last 3 years we've had to change our family plans to just the one child - our beautiful 4 year old son. We were hoping for a little brother or sister for him but it seems it wasn't meant to be.
